I was going through my marriage break up at the time we recorded this, It was extremely difficult and an emotional rollercoaster. I could see that this was hard for the guys to watch as I bounced around in the studio all in a mess but they were great and each had compassion and understanding, thanks chaps. The lyrics will explain the rest..

This is another song that I took to the band. My version had a more straight ahead rock verse but the chorus and middle eight are pretty much intact. Ronnie came up with the verse chords and again it all fell into place.
The track was quite rocky but Paul had a very definite idea for the feel of the lyrics so we had to calm down the rock aspect. Although this song is quite funky and up, the story behind the lyrics will always make me sad. I had a lot of fun experimenting with all the different guitar sounds on this one of which there are twelve.

And I wonder why, an apple falls down from the sky? This particular apple took a lot of persuasion to make the trip down. A strange hybrid, this song - I do hope the listeners like it. A brick, a bar, a bolt, a cup.......
Lyrics
Golden years…. bereft for me
My pretty little angel
Please be strong and find some peace
Free your soul somehow
There's a photograph at my best for you my love
So hold on to that moment will you
I'm feeling more as I found less
Upon my fragile joy I rest
Oh oh I just can't breathe
Oh oh I can't breathe
This pain will fade and your heart will know
And you'll understand I had to go
Don't be sad I had to go
The silence is too strong I can't breathe
Your pain will fade and you will grow
When you flourish I'll feel you
Oh oh I just can't breathe
Oh oh I can't breathe
Oh oh
